I was born and raised in Almere, where wind turbines are part of the skyline. From my bedroom window I could see the blades turning. When I became aware of sustainability, I soon found myself wondering: "If wind turbines are so good for the climate, why are they not everywhere?" These days I understand that making things sustainable can be highly complex. It is precisely that socio-technical complexity in the energy system that excites me, and I have developed the skills to tackle complex questions head-on. Alongside that, I am motivated to do my bit for the energy transition and make the Netherlands more sustainable.
