Electricity markets

International expansion

European electricity markets offer opportunities, but every national market has its own rules, TSO requirements and operational obligations. Krachtwerk guides battery operators, aggregators and energy companies looking to make that move across borders, from market analysis through to actual market entry.

Europe's electricity market offers a wide range of diversity and opportunity, but every national market has its own rules, TSO requirements and operational obligations.

Success in the Netherlands does not automatically mean you are ready for Germany or elsewhere. Krachtwerk knows the differences and guides you across the border.

Europe's electricity market is partly harmonised, but there are significant differences between countries in market rules, TSO requirements and platform architecture. Germany has four TSOs (TenneT DE, 50Hertz, Amprion, TransnetBW), different auction times, its own aFRR bidding structure and additional obligations such as Redispatch 2.0. Knowing the Dutch market does not automatically mean you are ready for the German market, or for any other European market.
Going international takes more than market knowledge. You need insight into each country's regulatory frameworks, the technical interface requirements with the local TSO, the legal structure for BSP registration and the operational adjustments needed in your systems. Krachtwerk guides this process from market exploration through to operational go-live, so you can scale up in a controlled way.
Going international is relevant for battery operators, aggregators and energy companies that want to deploy their flexible assets across multiple markets. Spreading activity across countries reduces market risk and increases potential returns. We help organisations take that step well, both strategically and operationally.
