I firmly believe in the power of our generation to make a difference in the energy transition. It is up to us, and we need every fresh idea we can get. Since my student days I have been involved in a range of sustainability projects, and I have become fascinated by the complexity of the energy transition and the many domains it touches.

It is a system change in which all the separate elements ultimately have to fit together. That is the challenge that gets me out of bed in the morning. I have worked mainly in the public sector, on grid congestion and hydrogen, two subjects that are essential to building the energy system of the future. I do this with a results-driven approach and a lot of enthusiasm. Others have described me as "infectiously impatient", which helps me motivate people and take them with me into the transition. I am quick to understand different interests and to make complex questions manageable and clear.
